The May 2026 CS2 souvenir update didn't lift the whole market — it split it in two. Some souvenirs spiked and others crashed, depending on what they're useful for now. If you have souvenirs in your inventory, this one's for you.

Cheap souvenirs spiked
The reason is simple: souvenirs now work as cheap input material for trade-ups aimed at high-value normal skins. Overnight, souvenirs that nobody wanted became sought-after raw material — especially those from collections with a valuable covert skin at the top of the trade-up tree.
One example that went viral: the MP5-SD | Oxide Oasis (Field-Tested) souvenir went from around €10-20 to nearly €150 in a short time, with trading volume through the roof.
Heads up: these figures are from right after the patch and they move a lot. Always check the real price before buying or selling.
Expensive, rare souvenirs dropped
Here the opposite happened. The Souvenir-O-Matic lets you "manufacture" souvenirs on demand, so top-tier pieces lose some of their exclusivity: more potential supply means a smaller souvenir premium.
Some of the drops recorded after the patch (data from CS.MONEY):
- AWP Desert Hydra (Factory New) souvenir: −18.6%
- AK-47 Gold Arabesque (Factory New) souvenir: −15.4%
- M4A1-S Imminent Danger (Factory New) souvenir: −3%
The collections that moved most were the ones with an expensive covert at the end of the trade-up, like Cobblestone (home of the AWP Dragon Lore) and Mirage (home of the AWP Desert Hydra).
Got souvenirs? What to do now
- Check your inventory. See whether any cheap souvenir has jumped, especially from collections with a valuable covert.
- Watch your expensive or rare souvenirs. "Manufacturing" via the Souvenir-O-Matic may keep pushing their price down.
- Decide quickly but smartly. These spikes tend to be volatile: volume rises and falls within days.
- Don't trade blind. Prices are moving a lot right now; confirm the real value of each piece before doing anything.
